Wachau is rightfully considered to be one of the most picturesque valleys in Europe. Its hills are covered with woods and wine gardens, the river of Danube makes smooth turns here, cosy little towns with their medieval houses, churches and monasteries hide in green gardens and ancient castles-fortresses crown the rocks high above. This excursion is a breathtaking trip though times. We will see how life was in medieval times and how it continues these days in modern Austria. And the climax of the trip will be visiting a very old Benedictine Monastery Melk - the perl of European catholic constructions.
